'ROWING THE ARCTIC' WINS BIG TV AUDIENCE
The documentary filmed by crewman Mark Beaumont on the Old Pulteney Row To The Pole hit a big audience for its time slot this week, delighting the whole team behind the project. It is reported that 1.3 million people watched the programme, beating all other main channel viewers. Fantastic news.
Produced by Matt Barrett of BBC Factual (Scotland) the film tells the same story as our book FURTHEST NORTH. The photography is stunning and, we hope, will earn itself a few more screenings.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
Journalist Carol Hogarth of Dumfries & Galloway Life has been talking to explorer Jock Wishart and author Rod Macrae about FURTHEST NORTH. It is a terrific 5 page spread with some of our photos. Here's a quote we like a lot from her article:
"The story of the expedition, as told by Rod, is a thrilling tale of battling the elements and overcoming the odds (and polar bears) before a dramatic climax"
JOCK WISHART SKIPPERS SPORTS RELIEF BOAT
Jock has been back in action this spring taking the helm of a yacht in the Scottish team that took part in Sport Relief's biggest challenge yet: First Nation Home. It was a gruelling 1,000 mile race around the UK & Ireland for a team of celebrities representing the 4 nations of the UK. They rowed, cycled, sailed and ran as they bid to be the first team to return to their capital city. Jock succeeded in steering the Scottish team to win the sailing leg from Larne to Stranraer. Their effort contributed to Sport Relief's total of over £52 million. www.firstnationhome.com.
MARK BEAUMONT RIDES THE WAVES AGAIN
Cyclist and now rower, Mark Beaumont took many of the amazing photographs in Furthest North. As if rowing in the Old Pulteney Row To The Pole crew was not enough, he has made an attempt to row the Atlantic. It ended with a dramatic sea rescue after the boat was overwhelmed by a massive wave.
